While walking with my family on the new trail that opened near the dog park in Radford, Virginia, I noticed a bridge—actually, a trestle bridge–and remembered a story I had heard. According to the story, a young woman either jumped off or fell from the trestle. The same woman can be seen at night, pacing on top of the bridge or falling from it.
After visiting this location, I reached out to the Radford community and discovered others had heard the same story! Several people told me they have seen or know someone who has seen the ghost of the young woman. In the 1980s, two people died from jumping or falling from the trestle.
This location was a really cool discovery, and I enjoyed looking into it. When I tried looking up the haunted bridge, I could not find much information online. Everything came from word of mouth and some Facebook sleuthing. Maybe one day, others will start investigating it, and we find out more about what happened there.
