On the evening of August 21st, 1955 Elmer Sutton and John Charley Sutton had some guests over for dinner at their farmhouse located in between Kelly and Hopkinsville Kentucky. There were 8 adults and 3 kids in the house that night.
With all the conversations going no one noticed Billy Taylor get up and go out to fetch more drinking water when he noticed a flying saucer streak across the sky. It then landed about half a mile away.
Excited by this Billy ran in and told his friends and family and was met with laughter and ridicule. The folks shrugged off the story and returned to what they were doing, paying him no mind.
That is till about an hour later the Sutton’s dog began to bark his head off. A little bit more than it would for deer or some other kind of animal. So some of the men went out to investigate. When they did the dog followed them out and ran right past them.
When they walked over to the dog, they weren’t able to identify the strange creatures so they ran back into the house and quickly armed themselves. As they stepped out again they noticed one of the creatures had come out of the forest. It was almost human-like about 2-3 feet tall, gray skin, thin overly long dragging limbs, pointed ears, glowing yellow eyes, with a glazed look on their faces.
Without thinking one of the men shot the creature with a shotgun at point-blank range. When it hit the creature it made a metallic ping like sound knocking the creature over to the ground, but the creature quickly got back up.
After a few minutes of trying to stop the creatures and no luck using their guns, the two men retreated back to the house. Then over the course of the next half hour the creatures would appear then disappear at the windows scratching at them and peeking in.
Eventually someone fired another shot at one and Billy Ray went out to investigate. When he did, a creature came off the overhang of the porch and grabbed him by the head, but he was saved by his wife pulling him back into the house.
The group held the creatures back with gunfire till the sun came up. They then went to the Hopkinsville police station and reported the story.
Since all of the adults were sober trustworthy people the police went out to investigate the house. When they did they discovered a strange patch of glowing soil they couldn’t explain. Was this from the creatures?
