I was probably 12 when this happened, living in my childhood home in Eastern Massachusetts around 2008. I was playing video games on the GameCube to give you reference on when this occurred. I had a small Batman box tv and it was set on top of my tall dresser. Due to this I would sit on my other dresser near it to be close enough to see.
I was playing Shadow the HedgeHog which is a little ironic to this story. My little sister walked in the room and asked what I was playing. I told her and she just stood there watching me play. As I continued playing we both felt someone enter the room. After this incident my sister told me she thought it was our dad and I told her I thought it was our other sister.
We both looked back at the same time. That is when we saw what I would find out later in life is called a Shadow person. It towered over us at about 6ft tall. Stunned, we took a second to look at it and we both ran through it to our parent’s room. I remember screaming out of pure fear.
Those few seconds I got a good look at it. It stood there motionless with its arms to its side. I felt like it was staring at us despite the fact it had no facial features. I could tell it was not a physical being like you or me. It was slightly translucent.
I know this encounter did not take long considering it was gone when I came back to my room. But it was this experience that made me interested in the paranormal. I know I probably will never know what it is, but I believe this was a spirit or an inter dimensional being that was just passing through. It probably stopped in the middle of its journey, curious about my sister and I. And I easily would have been skeptical that I actually saw something, but my sister saw it too.
