Back in the 1990s I was a store manager for Staples. I was driving home in Ohio coming from Pennsylvania around 8PM one night when I made a stop for some gas. I went inside to pay like normal, I was the only person there except for the clerk. When I got in my car something flew over in front of my car. I couldn’t believe it.
I had never seen anything like this. It was about the size of a man, maybe 5 to 6 feet tall, it looked like a cross between a man and a bird with maybe about a 6ft wingspan. What got me were the eyes. They were red and looking right at me. After a brief moment it was gone. I looked out my back window and couldn’t see it anywhere.
After this I was in complete shock, I had to go home and have a few beers to calm down. I told my wife about this and she thinks I did see something but believed it was an owl. I myself know it wasn’t an owl or any kind of animal I’ve ever seen.
I never told anyone about this because I knew no one would ever believe me. A few years later I saw some images of what Mothman was said to look like and realized that’s what I saw! It was definitely not an animal, or at least not any I knew of.
