Most folks are aware Pennsivlina gets its fair share of Bigfoot sightings, but did you know about the humanoid creature known as the Alatwitch? It’s said to be between 4-5 foot tall mini version of Bigfoot that live in trees. The name Albatwitch came from the Dutch-English word apple-snitch because they were said to steal apples and chuck them at people. The natives in the area even warned settlers of such a creature mentioning it was aggressive and liked to be left alone.
In February of 2002 a man named Rick Fisher was driving along Route 23 around 6:00 in the morning when he noticed something ahead of him in the road. As he got closer he thought it was a person and wondered why someone would be wandering in the middle of the road when it was dark.
As he got closer he noticed it’s small size and thought maybe it was a kid, that’s when he really began to wonder what it was doing in the road at that time of day. He flashed his high beams at it trying to get its attention. That’s when whatever it was turned around a blink. Rick then noticed it had glowing yellow eyes and realized it wasn’t human. It stood about 3-4 feet tall and was covered in black hair head to toe. As it stood up it didn’t seem to care if Rick was there and then, it vanished. Rick stopped the car for a moment shaken by this encounter, but then realized if this thing could vanish like it did, what’s to say it couldn’t just re-appear? That’s when Rick decided to get out of there.
Later on Rick decided to tell his story to a trusted co-worker, who told him that he also knew someone else that had a similar sighting in the area.
