This is a story of something that happened to me at Gettysburg Battlefield Park.
My wife and I were exploring a part of the battlefield near Devil’s Den. Next to Devil’s Den is a stream with granite rocks in it known as Bloody Run because during and after the battle, the water ran red with the blood of the dead. As we looked around, my wife stepped out onto one of the granite rocks in the stream so I did the same. While standing there, I suddenly felt an extremely sharp and intense pain in my gut. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced (and I have had kidney stones….this pain was worse).
I dropped to my knees in pain and grabbed my gut. My wife, being concerned, came to me to help me to the car. She helped me up and slowly we walked back to the car. As soon as my feet touched the modern day blacktop, the pain disappeared right away as if someone flipped a light switch. We got back into the car and drove away.
A few hours later, we were walking down Baltimore Street and looking around downtown Gettysburg. We came across a new age store that advertised psychic readings and since my wife and I had never really had a psychic reading done before. When it was my turn, I asked the psychic if she did past life readings. She said she did.
All I told the psychic was that I felt a connection to the battlefield and wanted to know why. As she did my reading she said I was a soldier for the Confederacy who was in love with a woman in a Northern family. Needless to say, that family did not approve of the relationship. Continuing the reading, the psychic told me she sensed I was with a regiment that was involved in fighting around Devil’s Den. She said eventually I was shot in the gut in the Bloody Run and left for dead.
She said I eventually crawled away and ended up in a rock in the shape of a donut where I eventually died.Shaken that her story matched the pain for earlier, we went back to the battlefield the next day. On the top of Little Round Top, we looked down at Bloody Run and Devil’s Den. It didn’t take long for us to find a rock in the shape of a donut.
This is the creepiest thing that has ever happened to me and thought I would share.
